Frequently Asked Questions

Check out these frequently asked questions about the 2024 Whooping Crane Festival!

  • There is no registration fee, each event is sold individually.

  • Packet pick-up is at the Port Aransas Civic Center (710 W. Avenue A).

    Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • This depends on the boat tour!

    • The Whooping Crane Boat Tour has a concession area for the purchase of snacks and beverages. They will also allow small coolers with no glass containers and no alcohol.
    • Mustang Boat Tour allows snacks and small coolers with no glass containers to be brought on board. Please properly dispose of trash on all tours.
    • On the Sunset Wine and Dolphin Tour there will be a cash bar for snacks and beverages. Wine and cheese will be provided at no cost. No coolers are allowed on this tour. 
  • Space is limited on these tours; be prepared to have restricted space for your equipment. On bus tours over three hours, water and snacks will be provided. Please do not bring any glass containers.  

  • You can find locations for the experiences you have signed up for through an email that will be sent to the address you provided at checkout 24 hours before your event. You can also find the experience location on the Whopping Crane Festival brochure that will be available at the registration desk (Port Aransas Civic Center, 710 W. Avenue A)

  • Yes, each experience requires a ticket. You can purchase tickets on the website under the 2024 Festival tab. Tickets will also be at the registration desk at the Port Aransas Civic Center for events with open availability. The vendor fair is the only experience that is open to the public and does not require a ticket.

  • Visit the registration desk at the Port Aransas Civic Center (710 W. Avenue A) to sign up for any events with availability.

  • Only service animals are allowed on the Nature Preserve grounds. No dogs will be allowed on the bus tours and boat trips. We recommend leaving any non-service certified furry friends at home. All pets are welcome at the vendor fair if they are on a leash or being held. Please remember to pick up after your pets! 

  • This tour can accommodate manual wheelchair users who can walk a few steps. The ramp to board the boat is steep and narrow with an inch-high threshold at the top. There is also an inch-high threshold at the door to the indoor area on the lower level, and the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.
