On the Island

Rent a golf cart to get around on the island, but remember not to take it on Highway 361! For more versatile transportation, you can rent a Jeep or car.

Off the Island

If you are traveling to Port Aransas via Highway 361 by way of Corpus Christi, you will cross the Harbor Bridge, which is currently undergoing some construction updates. To check any traffic that may be caused by the construction, utilize the below webcam resources. Two from TXDOT show the JFK Causeway, and one shows traffic headed off North Padre Island, from the Aquarius stoplight in front of Starbucks. Hopefully these will help as you plan your trip!

The City of Port Aransas also offers three bus options into Corpus Christi and back. The Flexi B (Route 90) is geared toward those who wish to go shopping and/or have appointments in Corpus. The Padre Island Connection (Route 65) provides transportation for employees between Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, and the Port Aransas Express (Route 95) provides a convenient and quicker service over the ship channel for employees. Routes 65 and 95 are operational during the peak summer months.
